Reflections

“ Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
Is this not the pattern of my life – I wake up each day asking – Who will roll the stone away….the entrance to the tomb, into which I want to enter – a potential site for crying and morning, situations which I fear to address each day, closed off by a large stone….echoes these women’s statements and sentiments each day!
But when they reached there – as they came near the Tomb – they realize that “the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away”….
Someone has been up much early, moving out the stone and getting the stage ready for the “turn around” which the women had not even imagined, (though this had been told to them by their master)….
How easily do I forget the “promises” and the “Word” I read – the word which promises that the feared situations are not the ultimate plan of God….And I walk in fear, forgetting that there would have been the angels who have gone ahead opening up closed tombs, preparing for what God wants to accomplish             that day.
What the women expected was – what their intellect and emotions told them – to mourn for a dead Master, to anoint a dead body - they never in their wildest imagination, thought that they would encounter a resurrected person in place of a Dead body…!
Oh for the ability to see beyond the lies and half truths that my “Emotions” and “Intellect” tells me each day and listen to the “Spirit of Truth”….
“As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
The Good news was alarming because – they were not expecting “Good News” – they were only expecting to “Anoint a dead body”….How like me – expecting “disasters” when God has planned for “celebrations”….”Expecting Negatives, when God was positively in action…preparing some thing bigger and greater!
Oh for the ability to see situations and events though Gods eyes and perspectives….
Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. [a]
A response which defies logic – why they would be afraid of a Life changing, paradigm breaking news – which would be start of world turning upside down….? News remains news, and has the tendency to bewilder us till it is “experienced” and becomes part of a “personal story”….because we listen not             with the “spirit” but with the mind…not with the heart but with the brain….later once they experience the presence of the risen savior – they would be filled with Joy!
Oh for the word I hear each day to be Heard by the Soul and heart and spirit each day…and to rejoice by the experience of that word….
