Brokenness and Leading....

How significant is inner brokenness in the life of a person who is called to lead..lead any thing - be it be a small group, an institution or a large organization.....Even leading a family....

If leading is fruit bearing - facilitating fruits being produced in others lives - pruning is key - which means - pain and brokenness is inevitable....?

If leading is fruit bearing - facilitating fruits being produced in others lives - abiding is also equally important...?

Pruned and cut branches but dependent branches....wounded and broken individuals, who are dependent on the source....?

Another Day in Duncan

Five years ago, I wrote a blog called  "A Day in Duncan".   It was a snapshot of the critically ill patients I encountered during a typical day in the hospital.  read it here If you revisit that post, you'll notice that many of those patients were battling non-communicable diseases, while the major infections were tuberculosis and HIV. The rest were a mix of drug-related complications (such as steroid dependence leading to hyponatraemia), trauma, and a few immunological disorders. Fast forward to a recent "Day at Duncan". Among roughly 50 patients admitted in the wards, more than 20 were critically ill. What stands out is that the disease landscape continues to evolve. We are seeing unusual infections more often, the familiar HIV and TB pairing but with increasingly complex complications, rising addictions, attempted suicides, growing mental health concerns, all layered on top of the ever-present burden of non-communicable diseases. Am I Crazy?

This blog is a travel blog. Annapurna Base Camp trek. At the outset itself, I invite you on a journey. Rather, two journeys: one diagnostic, another experiential. (It is a bit long too – you can skip the reading for the pictures if you are too busy – but I advise you to stop, sip, savour, and move on.) Diagnostic one – to decide if the author is crazy or normal. The author was almost convinced by the middle of the journey that he was crazy. This was acknowledged by close family members and a few observers. You too can come to your own conclusions.   Experiential one – I have tried to give as many pictures as possible (a photo blog) so that you can experience some of it.
