Random reflections
As we went through the “home
calling” of my mother, the events which surrounded the same, over last few
days, I have been forced to reflect on a few issues, here are some stray
disjointed ramblings….
Holding on Vs Releasing – Our natural
tendency is to hold on, to whatever we own and or whatever/whoever is close to
us. Holding on, many a times not for selfish reasons, but good and commendable
reasons. But the ability to release when it has to be released and not to hold
on, is what we need wisdom for. Not only release physically, but an inner release.
But we need to still hold on – to memories, lessons learnt and many other
things.
Living daily, with detached attachment,
or released holding on, is a part of our life in this world….how do I live in
this balance….
A related issue is – healing vs
curing, or healing without curing. Or on another perspective, life preservation
vs life giving by releasing physical life….Physicians (I mean MD Medicine) are
programed to cure! They are wired to preserve life, they need to learn to heal,
and to release from life for the greater purpose of healing….
How do I move from curing to
healing….
What is valuable vs of no value –
Air India, in their cargo section declares, Body send as Cargo is “”Human Remains”
and is only of “sentimental value”! What was of value becomes value less, when
the breath is no more – or the pneuma is taken away. But many a times, we
realize this only when, this dissociation happens! In my daily life, how do I
live, with the shell as a temple, which receives it value, because of the invaluable
soul within it?
How do I live attributing value
to an associated human person, with a dissociated understanding…..
Commercialization Vs Caring
community – in a context where even grief and mourning is being commercialized,
by event managers taking over management of all support systems to grieve, creating
space for the community of care to be at the centre of the grief process is important.
Preserving and protecting and creating space for this community to be part of
the recovery process, is key in the context of commercialization which is
taking over every aspect of our lives.
How do I protect and preserve communities
of caring….
What is community – community emerges
when crises happens. My own “set definitions” of the community/communities I am
part of went for a six, as I saw multiple communities emerging, or so called multiple
groups merging together to become one caring and supporting community. How do I
facilitate this on a daily basis and not wait for a crises only.
Can I be a facilitator of
breaking walls?
Community Vs Individual – communities
are key for support as people go through crises, but at the same time,
individuals, have to face deeper issues, decisions alone. Creating space for individuals
in the midst of facilitating of communities, is part of all crises support
systems. Not all can be community facilitators, but all can be space creators,
- creating space for individuals to face their own inner man and issues…
Am I creating this space…..?
Our planning Vs His sovereignty -
our daily lives are about, taking adequate control of the same, planning,
thinking ahead and setting up processes to take forward these plans. But there
is the sovereign God who is behind, weaving and designing, and planning too…Coming
together of these two, and discerning and giving up our plans, for His greater
plans, resting in His sovereignty is what He calls us to…
How do we plan and rest at the
same time….
Some of these are personal
reflections – may not be relevant, but for me it was catharsis…
