What is important

The pandemic and its impact on our lives have been an eye opener. With many known people passing on, many still struggling to come out of their various health and broader issues due to pandemic - the issues that I have been challenged about in the past no longer seems important.

Of many issues, three stand out with fast losing priority in life. Yesterday I would have struggled with it, today it seems irrelevant.

One - personality differences. People who see, think and behave differently from what I think they should, always was a challenge. But today this does not seem so important. These people are to be celebrated and encouraged because one does not know who might suddenly face a crises and move on.

This is what Jesus did too - got 12 people with totally different personalities and celebrated life together with times of meals, washing feet, retreats etc.

Two - the perspective differences on issues that matter to me. Today it seems very irrelevant. I have strongly disagreed over such issues in the past - but I realise that in the long term eternal perspective, these make not much difference.

Jesus drew 15 different pictures of the kingdom. Each could be worth fighting over and building a movement around and disagreeing with the others. But Jesus drew all these various pictures together since Kingdom was and is much bigger than any one perspective.

Three - The programmatic differences - how things should done. Something that I always struggle with. I feel there is one good way of getting things done  and all the alternatives are suboptimal. But today it seems irrelevant, not worth fighting over!

Jesus life - in his healing ministry itself each healing was different. Some by word, some by touch, some without doing anything, some by spit etc. And his ministry itself was varied and diverse.

God as the creator  is one who created a variety of things and celebrated the differences by declaring them as good each day.

End of our life all what matters will be the legacy of love and relationships that we leave behind. I hope I will hold on to this, rest of my life…
